On October 9th members of the Jourdanton FFA Chapter competed in the Area X Career Development Events. At the contest, students competed in Homesite Evaluation, Land Evaluation, Range Evaluation, and Plant Identification.
The Chapter Farmer Homesite Evaluation team placed 3rd overall. High point individuals on the team were Claire Vyvlecka 6th, Jenny Vrana 7th, and Mallory Vickers 9th. Other team members included Abby Valdez, Ally Foster, Hayden Harris, Lexi Sandoval. The Greenhand Homesite Evaluation team placed 1st overall. High point individuals on the team were Mario Venegas 1st, Kirby McNeill 2nd, Sydney Blair 3rd, and Randall Benton 4th. Other team members included Cali Hindes and Ally Sherley.
The Chapter Farmer Land Evaluation team placed 1st overall. High point individual on the team was Kristin Mueller 3rd. Other team members included Rene Ortiz, Spencer Thomas, Jesus Jimenez, Daffne Berrios, Mayilyn Vick, Macey Briones, and Molly Barton.
The Chapter Farmer Range Evaluation team placed 1st overall. High point individuals on the team were Cort Hindes 1st, Mason Vick 3rd, Weston Eisenhauer 5th, and Michael Howard 7th. Other team members included Paige Stofa, Beidler Weiss, Sawyer Huggins, Madison Lutz, and Jacob Meyer. The Greenhand Range Evaluation team placed 3rd overall. High point individuals were Riley Howard 1st, Kooper Schorsch 8th, Tate Yow 9th, and their other member was Slade Huggins.
The Chapter Farmer Plant Identification team placed 5th overall. The team consisted of Aiden Guzman, madison Yow, Emma Roach, Riley Hindes, Carli Foster, Jordan Wallace, and Joey Dickey. The Greenhand Plant Identification team placed 4th overall. High point individual on the team was Laurie Kubish 8th. Other members included Kaylee Jenkins, Miranda Jones, Emma Dixon, Kylyn Smithey, and Jadyn Jupe.
All Chapter Farmers teams advanced to State and will compete in the spring.
