The Jourdanton Garden Club sponsored their sixth annual, “Don’t Be a Litterbug Contest” for all children living and/or attending a school in Jourdanton who are in the first-fifth grade.
The organization wants to stop the littering on our beautiful streets and make Jourdanton “litter free’ and green.
First and second graders could submit a poster depicting the theme. Third-fifth graders could also enter a poster for their group.
Third-fifth graders could also write an essay about the topic which could be no longer than 150 words.They were asked to explain why you shouldn’t be a litterbug. The Garden Club rewarded the following students:

Winning entries will be displayed at the public library. Remember, let’s throw away our trash and keep our town “litter free” and GREEN.
