Last night the Jourdanton Boys Powerlifting Team competed against some of the better powerlifting programs in the San Antonio area.
Colton Brown place 1st in a very competitive 123 weight-class. Colton improved his total by over 200 pounds.
Jocivus Lopez placed 2nd , also adding 200 pounds to his total.
Xavier Tijerina, Cooper Awbery, Gabriel Arguijo, and Caleb Galindo all earned points for the team with 4th place finishes.
Danilo Lugo placed 2nd with a total of 1335, that will likely guarantee the freshman a trip to Regionals.
It was also a big night for Jourdanton's heavy hitting Seniors. Luke Fanno took 1st place in his last meet before moving on to Regionals, as did senior Nathiel Arias.
Chris Verdin stole the show place with a total of 1,575 pounds earning him the award for BEST LIFTER. This total was 500 pounds heavier than 2nd place and served as a nice warm-up as Chris gets ready to compete at regionals.
Jourdanton took First Place as a Team overall.
Congratulations Boys!!!
Next week the boys will have one more meet, as we try and get a few more into Regionals.
