JISD is committed to the safety and security of our staff, students and visitors. As part of that, all students and staff participate in mandatory drills yearly. JISD has no current plans of participating in an Active Threat Exercise. We have attached excerpts of §103.1209 and §103.1211 to share the difference between the two.

Joseph Hernandez, Junior, out-squatted and out-benched every other 181 lb. lifter. Joseph's total of 1515 earned him Regional Champion. Finally, sophomore Danilo Lugo. Dani demolished his competition and brought home the plaques to prove it. He was awarded "Most Outstanding Squatter" (770 lbs.) and "Most Outstanding Bencher" (550 lbs.). On Wednesday at the Unequipped Regional Championship Jourdanton had three lifters qualify and compete. Senior Trinity Garcia had an amazing finish to a terrific senior season. Trinity placed 4th amongst the strongest lifters in the State. Sophomore Lizzy Molina had a near perfect meet and pulled an epic 15 lb. deadlift PR to tie for 2nd and qualify for State! Senior Liberty Harlan blew the doors off of the competition earning her the title of the Regional Champion and is heading to State ranked #1. On Thursday in the Equipped Championship meet Jourdanton also had three lifters compete. Senior Sadie Shearrer had a great meet and finished 7th in the region. Senior Miriam Bocanegra broke the longstanding Squat Record in the 165's with an easy 450 lb. attempt. Although Miriam placed 2nd at this meet, she is still ranked 2nd in the State and is within striking distance of the title. This was also Miriam's 4th appearance at the Regional Championship. Junior Bella DeLeon shocked the competition with a PRs in both squat and bench, that absolutely flew. Posting 425 lb. squat, 275 lb. bench and a 350 lb. deadlift: Bella DeLeon is the 181 Regional Champion and ranked #1 going into State. Next Friday the Boy's will lift at their Regional Meet in Kingsville. --
